It seems that the email response I sent to Mrs. Gooden didn't go through. I think that it could be because of the recent network troubles that we've been having. She did get the email that I sent after that and the voice mail that I had left for her. She is very nice and she really helped me out. I'm glad that she's helping me through this process.Mrs. Gooden called me and we made arrangements for me to come down and get the TB shot.
I haven't had a TB shot in years but I don't remember it hurting as much as it did today. I have to return on Wednesday to get it checked but I don't foresee any problems. Hopefully after that I can begin to volunteer.
I was talking to Mrs. Gooden and Ms. Tise (Volunteer Coordinator BTG) about what I wanted to do but truthfully I'm open to anythings - well almost anything. They warned me about saying 'anything'. I'm going to get in contact with Northwest Health Clinic because it's close to my home and stays open later - which is good with the schedule that I have. If they don't have anything there, I let them know that I could also work at Ben Taub.
Right now it's just a matter of finding a place for me and getting started. I hope that I am up to any task that they give me. It worries me that I will mess up. This may be volunteer work but I feel as if this is a new job that I am approaching. In any event I will give it my best and that's all that I can truly do.
Wish me luck.
